Discovery channel US April 25th 9pm. Part of Alaska week starting April 20th:

With one of the most extreme climates on Earth and certainly the most deadly in the U.S., dangers loom at every step in the Alaskan winter — avalanches, thin ice, blizzards, hypothermia and starvation, to name a few. So how is it that people have been living here for longer than anyplace else in America? And more importantly, what can be learned from their survival methods that just may save your life, no matter where you are? Survivorman host Les Stroud will put his survival skills to the test as he embarks on a quest to answer these questions.

Les has just returned home from South Africa after spending a few days cage swimming with the great whites. This was the final shooting for the 2nd installment of Surviving Sharks. Watch for it on Discovery US in the middle of the summer 2008.On May 3rd and 4th 2008, Ontario High School students from Almonte to Wawa and all points in between will get the thrill of negotiating their way across over 25 km of wilderness terrain at the 2nd annual High School Adventure Challenge.
