I'm a little late to the party, but I'd like to add myself to the list of LMF II owners (mine is the Black Infantry version.) This truly is a well built and versatile tool.

I got mine for Christmas last year. I love it. I know people always bash Gerber but I think make good stuff.

Gerber makes good stuff but they also make not-so-good stuff too. I find that with Gerber you get what you pay for.
