Mirror.. I prefer the ACR mirror. Solid hi strength plastic. Been carrying one for years and very little scratching. I think it floats but I have not tried it. Very strong. It would be difficult to break it. Comes with their whistle for $11 at most marine stores in the US.

I have used it for signaling many times. Light weight too.
