I hate to ask this, because I know that it has been asked before. I did a search and got more replies than I can ever look at, so here goes...

Where is a good source for new (as in fresh) MRE's??? I know about EEI and Lond Life Foods, any other sources would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for any info...

The last ones i bought were here, sometimes they run sales that offer better prices or additional food in the mre's.

Major can be expensive with shipping, but if you buy enough it becomes competitively priced with a good selection and freshness. Major has improved shipping time, which was a Major problem in the past. I could make a shopworn joke about donuts and coffee <img src="images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />. Instead, a bit of survival trivia for everyone. Donuts used to be made up in bulk and allowed to freeze in the north country as a trail food. The tradition of dunking donuts comes from defrosting them in the coffee bite by bite.

$60 online free shipping ($75 if you phone in) a case of 12 full meals from http://www.longlifefood.com/ . I just placed an order with them yesterday and they seem like pleasant people to deal with. SInce I haven't received it yet I can't say anything more about them.

Hmm. Sort of like hardtack for the tundra! I remember seeing a picture in National Geographic from northern China or Mongolia of large donut shaped breads. I wonder if it was the same idea.

As a follow up, if anyone plans to order from them... They seem like a reliable outfit but it took them two weeks to ship my stuff. I know that shipping was free and the price was pretty sweet but still... It was three week adventure that I didn't need and would gladly pay some more just to get my stuff faster. But lesson was learned...

I've also read that the pre-made doughnuts provided the fat that the snowshoe hare lacked, thus making the diet a bit healthier for the trappers. Did I read that in Cache Lake County?

If you want seriously large quantities (like a one year supply) you might try this site...

I've never used it so I'm only sharing what I've found.
