Have you found these useful and if so, where have you been able to find these at a decent price including shipping?

and is the 2x3 Fresnel magnifying lens worth getting extras of to put in the kits (and if so, where's a good place to buy these too)? thanks

I've been thinking about ordering a few just for the lens' too. Although the little punch out compass might make an ok backup (read redundant) in a psk too

I've had one of these kits for years. The freznel lens and 1:24000 scale ruler on one of the cards is great for map reading. The info on the cards is basic but good. I haven't tried the compass but I wuld make it a thrid back up.

Well, I was in REI today and couldn't believe my eyes... they had one of these kits in their first aid department! So, I bought it and it's great! The lens alone is worth buying, plus it reminds me about the basics of water purification and first aid (in case I forget under stress)... and I really like the little compass.

I searched REI's website and finally found it with an old picture (likely why I didn't recognize it before). For reference, the card lists as a "Survival Card Kit", number 587065 and it goes for $5.95. They actually sell the new kit that's white and not the orange one that's pictured on their website.
