well I guess I was wrong. next to those rocks and that road sign you appear to be perfectly safe.

The next time you pass through Wainwright lets go grab a beer at JR's and we will see how safe you are then. ha, the fight that ensues will be just like the good old days.

I was there on rememberance day once with a bunch of reserves who were wearing kilts and the rig workers decided to make fun. It took two hours for the police to break that fight up.

I guess by the pictures you are fully qualified to answer climberslackers question.

+1 one that. Now that MBT mentions that, I used to know a guy with a deathwish (and several black belts) who would wear kilts to the Rig Pig hang outs because a fight was a sure thing...although he sometimes wore eye makeup, black finger nails and didn't stay low key hehehe.

One of the guys here at my work wears 'em ocaisionally. They look like they're made pretty well.

Personally, I think I'll stick with "convertible" REI Sahara pants with zip off pant legs. When I'm in brush, I zip 'em on -- especially now that Lyme Disease ticks have made it out this way. When I'm out of brush, I zip 'em off. They have ankle zips so you don't even have to take your boots off.

I'm not as familiar with MEC, but I think the link below looks similar to what REI has.

Some of the commercials are great, and all are apparently made by customers.
There's a link on the upper left titled "mock-u-mercial Archive".

I think the Survival Utilikilt is awesome, but I can't afford one right now. grin

i have worn the kilt to many functions, one of the joys of scots family. every jackass wants to know what you have under it so be prepared to smack some moron about abit when they lift it. my grandfather wore one in the trenches in WW1 and said he froze his knackers off in them. so doubt they would be practical in colder parts of the world.

As I recall, the German Army called the Scots troops in kilts 'The Ladies From Hell.'

There was an article about a year ago on the Whacky News about a high school kid of Scots descent who decided to go to his prom in a kilt instead of a tux. His principal took one look at him arriving and banned him from the dance. Caused all kinds of of uproar. I don't remember if he was wearing a sgian dubh.

Used to drink at JR's all the time in the 90's with a bunch of us in kilts and if anyone ever had a problem with it they only expressed that opinion once. Wore my kilt bouncing for many years and few guys want to tell their friends the got their ass handed to them by "a guy in a dress"! Few benifits of being 6'4" and 270lbs is few people chose to comment on your apparrel.

I learned first hand NOT to do cartwheels while wearing them. It falls down over your eyes and you can't see.

Sing it to the tune of bagpipes,

What does a Scotsman wear under his kilt, a wang, a wang..
