If you have been watching the news today in the UK, you can't of failed to notice the validity of the information on this site. For all the rest of the world just for your information, it's snowed and the majority of eastern England has ground to a rather embarrising halt. The M11, a major motorway north of London has had traffic at a standstill for about 24-28 hours in freezing conditions, with little support for the poor unfortunates stuck in their vehicles. To think my wife laughed at me when I packed a daysack with warm clothes, food and water and a sleeping bag and put them in my boot the other day. Thankfully so far the only snow where I live has passed and melted. Still I cant wait for the floods to start
It always amazes me that a country like the UK still gets caught out and grinds to a halt at the mearest sniff of bad weather.

The local British expatriots gravitate around my Manchester born mechanic. Either that, or my tea and biscuits are getting better A former RAF officer took one look at my pocket and recognized the BCB tin inside You blokes are our largest contingent outside of North America. Much of the PSK concept is british inspired. Perhaps the folks up at Findhorn can plant more hedges to slow the snow flurries

I live one time zone east of you. Here itīs about the same situation. It amazes me that this happens despite the fact that this kind of weather isnīt exactly unexpected at this time of year.
Itīs almost funny that news reported that drivers were surprised by the unexpected snowfall. Needless to say that the forecast told it since about a week ago.

Chris : You should enter the monthly contest at www.DuckTapeclub.com. Free rolls of duct tape and logo hats are awarded each month for the best story involving duct tape. After you accumulate a couple dozen hats, you can send me one as a "finders fee". LOL. Lou

The thing that really kills me is that the Highways Agency is blaming drivers for the trouble on the M11. Apparently everyone left work early on a snowy Friday Afternoon and stopped them gritting the roads!!!!

i'll see if one of my stories stick. I am doubtfull. In college, I entered such a contest to mimic great american writer's. I had problems with the english dept. ( or was it visa versa ). I submitted a passage from a lesser known Jack London novel, Smoke Bellew. I was informed it was nothing like London.

Mark, QUICK! get some bits of wood and lash them to your feet. Make some circles like those two farmers. Make sure they form "ley lines" heading menacingly to the nearest RAF base. Then set up a hot tea and banger stand for all the neo druids. Don't forget to contribute a portion to ETS
