www.jackmountainbushcraft.com/gear.html#knives is a treasure trove of links to more 'traditional' gear. On the same theme www.stormykromer.com/whats_a_kromer/ ( Elmer Phudds hat!) and www.empirecanvasworks.com/ . www.customwoolenmills.com/shoppe/shoppe.htm makes socks used and endorsed by Mors Kochanski. When a published survival authority promotes warm socks and humble Mora knives you know he doesn't need a new truck. www.polarbjorn.no/english.htm makes a pyramid snow tent of exceptional quality ( slept in one, and saving my Kroner. )Most of this stuff is personal fatique with camoflage and dayglo pink snowboarding outfits <img src="images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />. Look over the site resources for many suppliers also.

Besides standard junk I get a very nice catalog from Galls (www.galls.com). They make stuff for EMTs, Firemen, Army and Police. Maybe their tools are little overpriced but they have excellent carrying solutions.

I receive a catalogue that I can't praise highly enough, IMHO. Its from a company called Special Air Sea Services. They're based in the UK but they export all over the world. They make bespoke combat clothing for the world's armed forces / police etc. They also carry a range of packs, pouches, survival gear etc. The service is second to none and they'll entertain just about any mad custom idea you've got. Paul Lewis is the man to ask for if you want that SAS smock in an unobtrusive green or sand colour rather than camouflage. Various outdoor magazines think that they make the "Rolls Royce of Combat Smocks". They just call themselves the combat tailors! Order a catalogue and check out the stock at: http://www.sass-kit.fsbusiness.co.uk Highly recommended!
