apples and oranges

Both are at the top of their respective heaps IMO.

I use both.

Platypus makes bladders, backpack hydration systems, water carriers and a filtration system. I don't have much first-hand experience with those but they might be worth considering.

If you try them tell us how they work out.

I use the platypus 'bottles' to carry water into a dry camp, and (ouch) pay the big money to buy genuine camelbak bladders. They have 3rd or 4th generation design features I love.

I use Platypus products and have had no complaints. I even use the Big Zip hoser as a "poor man's" Camelback. I like the large zip-top feature, and have never had a closure failure cause any leaks.

These are also pretty sturdy. Take a look at their refillable tubes, too.

None of my roll-ups last as long as a Nalgene hard bottle. They eventually develop a tiny leak if they've been creased too often. However, I plan accordingly and replace as needed.
