I went with the Becker Companion and have had no regrets. I've all but tried to take the edge off the thing and can't. I've chopped with it, pried with it, and used it as a fro. The only complaint I have is that the coating seems a little weak, and my wife doesn't like the rust stains on the edge. That doesn't bother me, but then I have a soft spot in my heart for the ugly (one look at my dog will confirm that). I noticed that someone mentioned the Mors and his appreciation for the Scandinavian knives. It should be pointed out that he also carries an ax. I don't know your needs, but I would recommend the Becker if your looking for a knife that functions as an all around tool.
For what its worth,
Biscuits

You may want to look into the new Becker Crewman a 5.5" version coming out soon.

There are threads at knife and blade forums discussing. I and others on the forum have the 7" and it is a good solid value blade.
