What's a "crackhouse lighter"? I did a google, and the first link was this page and the others were general references to crackhouses and lighters, rather than a particular brand or style.

Sorry, that's just a term one of my friends uses as a joke. It's one of those storm-proof lighters that burns like welding torch. Esbit tabs can be tricky to light unless you have one of these handy, and I've torched wet tinder into flame with it, too.

I agree with the cord length of 50ft - never can have enough cord but the limit is what you can reasonably carry.
