I carry super glue in small FAK, like some, to use as field-expedient "stitches." What is the consensus as to minimum wound treatment (cleansing, flushing w/water etc) before using so as not to seal in infection-causing nasties?

I usually irrigate with clean water, suck on it if it ain't too big an opening, or squeeze around it to get the blood flow up enough to hopefully flush the cut. If it ain't flowing too vigorously, I will glue it up as soon after cleaning it off as possible. If it is bleeding too much, I will apply pressue, elevate it, and/or apply cold to it.

I keep crazy glue in my gear repair kit and medical grade crazy glue (I guess it's sterile?) in my FAK.

Rumor has it that you can't do it well enough in the field, period. Lucky for me, I have never had to glue myself shut yet...

My understanding is that small, shallow wounds that are relatively clean with minimal tissue destruction can be cleaned and closed. If you miss some dirt, it happens, the wound will swell and hurt. In which case you cut the closures, drain, irrigate, pick out any debris that got missed the first time and pack.
Deeper and larger wounds, particularly ones where chunks of meat are missing or mulched, usually shouldn't be closed immediately. They should be cleaned, debrided and packed. Used to be packed with betadine soaked gauze but there are more modern materials now. The packing is removed, the wound gently cleaned and repacked regularly. This is designed to allow the injury to heal from the inside out.

Maybe it is because I am a pretty fast healer, but I have to wonder, if you have a small, shallow, wound, why glue it closed? Why not just a bandaid? Why take the risk of infection, drains, irrigation after the fact, etc???
