I found a great emergency water carrier here from an unlikely source.
Every gas station in Brazil sells heavy gauge, five-liter plastic bags for carrying gasoline (yes, you read that right). They’re shaped like a jerry-can with a nozzle and a handle with four finger holes. These things are a product liability lawyers dream. They are actually printed gasolina, alcóol, diesel. It is a common practice here to fill these with five liters of fuel and bum a lift back to your car. Can you say self-immolation?
I bought a few of these and have them distributed among my various packs and kits for collecting, treating, transporting drinking water. You can loop a rope through the finger holes and even hang them up full of water.
I would love to see these available marked Drinking Water Only – Do NOT Fill with combustible material. Does such a product exist? Mac
