For some time now there has been an interest in the different Pill FOB's or key ring tubes, whatever they are called. The small tubes that connect to a key ring. Have not seen any posts on what anyone was able to get in one except some pills.

Has anyone here tried other items other than pills and if so what items and any problems? I dont have one yet but would like to know if they would be usefull or not and what kind of things would fit in them.

Thanks

Neal

Here is a thread I started. I stuffed my capsule with cotton/vaseline tinder and added it along with a hot spark to my keyring.

I also carry a stainless steel capsule for drugs.

Tinder thread

Here is a thread testing the tubes with iodine tabs

Iodine go boom?

Here is a thread with other options

Berkeley Point sells one that will hold two CR-123 Lithium batteries (for SureFire type lights). They call it the Trekker. $40 sounds a little pricey for a "key ring tube", but I hear they're extremely well made.

I built my own survival or gear keychain. I don't have any keyring pill fobs or spy capsules yet. For those of you who carry such keychains, have they ever caused a problem with security guards? I'm wondering if any gear-laden keychains have made it past airport security. One would think each and every container would have to be opened, and any fire-making tools or anything not instantly identifiable, confiscated.

Magellan's carries a tube that will hold US currency. I've had one for several years and recently removed it from my key ring due to it's large size. It's way overpriced. The URL is here .
