Ok, so this is the movie with Mark Wahlberg as a sniper. Just saw it on a plane, and it was so-so.

But, at one point he has to have someone do surgery on him and he seems to eat about 10 cans of spray cream first as an anaesthetic. Can anyone explain that? I've never heard of it, and it looked bizarre - but I figure if there is one place where people might know the answer.... grin

IIRC These used to be charged with nitrous oxide. Kids were going to gourmet supply stores & getting the gas cartridges for making whipped creme type foods & sniffing them like they used to do with model airplane glue.

Many aerosol propellants can get you high...and kill you dead.

That's why they add bitterants to 'air in a can' for computers and electronics. It's the most widely abused substance by under age folks next to pot.

I'm guessing your guess is right now that I think about it.

...and cigarettes if you can consider that abuse...some do.

I used to work with at least one person who would go to a grocery store, put a few cans of spray whip cream in the shopping cart, and take hits as he moved through the store, leaving the can when he was done wherever he could. He seemed to enjoy the high, although I did and do not condone such behavior. I have had nitrous oxide used on me many years ago by a dentist, and it did make me feel numb all over. However, he also gave me a shot of novocaine. I still felt a bit of pain as he worked. I could not imagine using only NO2 for anesthesia during abdominal surgery. Someone would probably need to lock me to a table, and I'd hope shock took care fo the rest.

I think I also saw the same movie on a plan. Must have had little marketing effort, because I had never heard of it.

NO2; nitrous oxide is the same gas they give you at the dentist.
