I've had a Lowe Alpine Mountain Cap for 6 years now. It's the best hat I've ever owned. Its waterproof and warm. Any reasonable outdoor shop will stock them. They're not cheap - but I think they're worth every penny. Hope this helps.

Check out the Tilley Hats. I have found these to be excellent for sun and rain. When it is cold I add a light alpaca wool ski hat topped by the Tilley. This is, of course, quite stylish!
