I have over 20 wilderness survival DVDs and many books on wilderness survival from which to compare the works of Peter Kummerfeldt.

This is a short review of a book and a DVD by Peter Kummerfeldt.

Peter Kummerfeldt has a loaded resume and is highly qualified to contribute to our knowledge of wilderness survival.

In brief, he was in the U.S. Air Force for 30 years and for 12 of those years served as Director of Survival Training. Since retirement from the Air Force in 1992 Peter has continued to provide education to people about wilderness survival.

Peter's DVD is called "Preparing to Survive".
This DVD covers all the necessary areas such as fire, shelter, equipment, clothing, signaling, water procurement, mindset, etc.
I received the DVD last week and just finished watching it for the second time today. Peter's ability to present information is outstanding. He is easy to understand and charismatic.
I learned several things from this DVD that I had not seen before.
I highly recommend this DVD regardless of the price. However, since the price is only $15 it's an absolute "must buy".

Peter's book is called "Surviving a Wilderness Emergency". I read the book during the last few days. The book covers all the necessary areas of knowledge like the video. One thing I like about both the book and the DVD is Peter's commitment to only give you information that is practical for modern times. He explains why in both the book and the DVD. This fact separates his works from the works of some others that show information that may not be practical today.
