(raises hand) I'm not sure I understand. Could you do it again with more coleman fuel this time?

Blast,

I suppose you could make it out of Titanium, however Ti really does a number on your Leatherman.

Have to admit, the stove would probably handle more Coleman fuel...not too sure about Hydrazine though.

Ummm...don't go getting any wild ideas ya'll.

A couple of weeks ago, or so, there was a thread about what to burn/what not to burn in an alcohol stove. Everyone was saying not to burn anything but alcohol in them. I remember thinking "I'll bet Blast is gonna burn something funky in one just because of this thread" !!!

That, while not advisable, would probably be safe... Jet fuel does not burn very fast from what I remember...

Pretty much the same as K1 Kerosene, just a little more refined.

Now rocket fuel on the other hand! Any one have some LOX we can use as an oxidizer?

Or to be really clever, C4 burns real well. Just don't burn and then stomp it out. :-)

I'm still waiting on JP-4 with some LOX squirted in at the last second. *grins* But that should be done by remote.

Hmmm, the tricky part would be the liquid oxygen (LOX). I suppose I could condense it out of the air with liquid nitrogen.

Wait a minute, NASA is nearby! They've got to have a tank of LOX somewhere...

p.s. I did my New Year's Eve fireworks shopping today. grin I've been going to the same place for ten years, they get HUGE smiles when they see me show up and greet me with, "Hey, you survived!"

If you cannot find or condense the LOX, perhaps you could try it with nitrous, which should not be too hard to find. I think I remember an episode of Mythbusters when they created a rocket using nitrous and that it worked.

Just remember to say:

"Here, hold my beer"

and

"Y'all watch this" before you touch it off.

And make sure that the sober one has the camcorder running...

JP-4 is no more. USAF replaced with less volatile JP-8. LOX would still give it a good kick start.
