Mark, I can vouch for SASS Kit. I have some excellent custom-made stuff from them, specifically is my smock which I wear all the time when out and about. They are very military orientated and as a result most of their items are mil-spec and designed for Survival / Evasion / Escape work so they are very compact and small - ideal for a PSK. Also try http://www.sofmilitary.co.uk as I have bought lots from them also and never had a problem. (They are called "Soldier of Fortune" but have no links with the magazine of the same name). However, I quite often just type into a search engine the specific item I am looking for. For example, last night - after reading many a post on this forum, I decided I wanted a Photon III LED Light to try out so typed it into google.co.uk and it came up with clubbertoys.com as the cheapest, the site is meant to be for toys and 'accesories' for nightclub goers!! Hope this helps, Rich Fisher PS As an afterthought, I have also bought stuff from www.nomadtravel.co.uk and found it a useful site and very 'inspirational'

I bought a custom smock from SASS as well. I got Paul to make me an SAS smock in a plain sand / khaki colour(not in the catalogue). Its the mutts nuts and doesn't look 'overtly' military as I had the FFD pocket left off. Great for being discrete in.

Rich: Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for posting, albeit as an afterthought, the URL for Nomad Travel! Since purchasing one of their Tropical Hammocks from Brigade Quartermaster, I've been trying to track them down.
Funny coincidence, but last night I received another of their hammocks, purchased for a friend, and this one had the manufacturer's tag still on it, complete with mailing address. I had resolved to mail them a letter today -- the very day I found your post!

in my personal opinion dont order at Silverman's as they are rediciously overpriced (e.g. £75 difference in exactly the same rucksack!! £7 on 95 trousers and £30 on 58 webbing!). SASS is a gd supplier I found. Got my shamagh, snug 3 (although misleading description) and basic PSK from them.
But there is an even better (cheaper quicker) service out there. It is UK based and (cant remember exact) something called like Starmans. The extra advantage if you order with them anything over £25 you get to chose a PROPER free gift. If you order anything over £50 you get something to chose for free like a set of mess tins! Now that is service!
If only I could remember the URL....

Greetings all, for lithium batteries go here... http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=777the cheapest place for lithiums in the UK (to my knowledge). I.E. 6x CR123's for £7 inc P+P! For torches, edged tools, and hard to get survival gear you need to visit this guy... http://outdoorsuppliesuk.com/content.htmlThe site is undergoing construction (but still viewable), you will not find anybody who sells this gear for less in the UK (I.E. Surefire L-1 £60, L-4 £90 ) nuff said! I've not used "Outdoorsuppliesuk" yet, (will do before Christmass though) but the site & owner have a very good reputation at Britishblades.com...well worth checking out! Steve.
