seasons greeting to all, i hope the fat man was good to everyone, and the new year beer fairy treated you all well.

just had the worst snowstorm of the winter so far here, a good half an inch!! feeble as it was tho it dragged conversation between me and my girlfriend round to snow shelters, and the question from my girlfriend of how do you light a quinze without the whole thing melting down round your ears. i gave the standard answer of preferably with chemical light sticks or very carefully with anything that gives of heat only to be asked whether or not LED torches give off heat. my answer consisted of a lot of erm......well.......erm.......etc. but very little actual substance. i was just wondering if anyone could give me an answer to this before she dumps me for being stupid.

For definate-they give off extremley little height-perhpas less than half a degree-this one of the reasons the batteries last so long-they also DON'T have a filament-the wire which heats up!

To sum up

they are exothermic but to an extremley small degree!
