Hence the jr.-sized shooting glasses. grin Grandpa is a NRA certified firearms instructor and will help train her. Notice she's showing proper trigger safety.

Besides, something needs to balance out the Disney Princess ball gowns, the Disney Princess books, the Disney Princess Play-Doh set, etc... I now call DD1 "Princess Sparkleblaster"

I suppose the NRA has no problems with using cats for the “moving target training” either, huh?

Ahem----- Since the Ritter and Kavanaugh households each include cats I would have a care suggesting they be targets.Piewacket Kavanaugh is already demanding I send PMs threatening banning.

Actually, they very much would have a problem with that.

I have tried that. She is too smart for that, even with a killer migraine. Biggest problem is actually having a day with no migraine of any kind...

No worries… was just pointing that in Blast’s case, it could be self defense. eek Besides, I have a cat of my own as well, so of course I would never do such a thing.

And just out of curiosity, how the heck did you come up with Piewacket as a name for your cat? The best I could come up with for my Himalayan is Bandit… (coming from the creative mind who named his iguana “Iggy”).

IIRC Piewacket is the name of a Siamese cat in the movie Bell, Book and Candle...

Growing up, we had a Siamese named Piewacket...

Today seemed to be about me annoying my wife with superior preparedness... I made a point of offering a Charge or a Wave when opening toys. I also made a point of holding it up in front of the video camera...that I was operating, and saying "Sounds like you need...the right tool for the job." I suppose by the time we got to Grandma and Grandpa's, it got old. But I shredded through those plastic coated wires and clear bands that have a death hold on the toys...

Yep, we spent last Christmas Day 35,000 feet over the Pacific on our way to China to get DD2. "Gotcha Day" for her was Dec 28th. It's hard to believe it's been almost a year.

p.s. Wildman, PM me about the sailor support group that gave you and your crew the bandanas and stuff. They sound like a good group.

My Christmas fulfillment is no longer about what I get, but what I can give.

The girls all made out with a load of boodle each. Got the daughters plenty of new survival gear that they loved. Got the wife trips to the spa, a new air hockey table, and plenty of good tequila. Then there's the new stack of DVDs with their names on them.

Best of all was giving away so much free food, toys, clothing and $ to people I don't even know who need it bad. Sure is nice to be allowed to give something after getting so much myself.

No need for any ghosts in my neck of the woods, I reckon.

I agree with you... My wife's mother passed away at the end of november this year and the only charity she would invest in was the local SPCA. So this xmas, we got a wish list of stuff from the SPCA and got some donations together and deliveried over 700 buck-a-roos of stuff to the cause in honor of her.

This is going to be one of our traditions. Its nice to give cash to the charity(s) of your choosing, but to actually go out there and get what they need and help out - totally different feeling.

Heh, I was just carrying my SAK around for xmas and used it about 20 times, and every time I did I pointed out to the person I was helping that they should at least carry a minimal one around.. I don't think I swayed anyone, but I'll work them over until they come around. I guess I should just give them out next year and see how many are still around the xmas after.

And guess how many times I got asked to "Open this for me please...?" grin

I gave away a few SAKs this year. A friend's kids to whom I give gifts a few times during each year, including Christmas, got SAKs, in addition to things Mom had suggested. The SAKs were a bigger hit than the toys for which they had asked. The two older brothers had knives, but not the two youngest. I like being the source of their first knives. Of course, I had to deal with the comments they and their mothers made about stabbing each other. That's one reason, I gave them small classics, lectured each of them a bit about such uses, and suggested that if they acted responsibly with them a multi-tool might be in the future, for each of them a few years down the road. Hopefully, they will respect them and learn without causing trouble.

Normally, I'd ask how DW feels about giving a young lady a BB gun.

However, you are one of the luckiest people alive.

This looks like it is just going to be fun.

Mine also. I get more joy out of making others happy, than in getting myself, unless the little Ruger SP101 in .327 is under my tree! grin
