I noticed there's a section for books and videos here, but there's nothing listed under Urban Survival. I was wondering if any of you knowledgeable folks knew of texts geared toward business travelers, commuters, and so forth, rather than outdoorsy people used to being out in the fresh air.

Craig

Hi, I’m Stuart Krone the Urban Survival editor for this site. I don’t normally prowl the boards here but Doug was kind enough to point me to this thread so I could help out. The only book I’ve seen specifically directed at travelers is "Executive Safety and International Terrorism : A Guide for Travellers" by Tony Scotty. There are a few other “tourist stay out of trouble” type of books, but I don’t think that’s what you are looking for. If you are interested in general self-defense, “The Truth about self-Defense” by Ayoob is amongst the best of that genre that I’ve ever read.

Well, my idea of self defense is to avoid questionable areas to begin with.

That sounds interesting. I'm much more likely to have to cope with the aftermath of a tornado or winter storm than anything else.
