Tight fit but seems comprehensive (Home-made tinder takes up the small little nooks and crannies) S.O.S. signals and survival tips are attached to the inside bottom of the kit and looks very professional. I was considering using cats eye tape on the inside top lid for illuminating interior at night and reflective mirror tape on the outside bottom to replace mirror to save bulk.I would appreciate any ideas about the construction or contents.

1. more or more durable waterstorage containers, a condom doesnt last very long.
2. you could replace the 2 vials of portable aqua with a bottle of polar pure if you want a lot of purification capabilitie. usually, a lot less will do, for sort tearm survival..

overall a very nice kit

Robert

what are the ' * ''s next to some of the items on your list for?

If the jet stream whistle is going into your kit, i would suggest you replace it with a fox 40 modified like Doug's if space is a problem.

That´s a pretty decent kit. I´d recommend the following:
- take freezer bags or ziplock bags for water storage they´re more durable than condoms
- add thread for sewing
- add regular matches or a small lighter
- add more fishing hooks
- remove the butterfly sutures, you shouldn´t close wounds in field
- keep the mirror if possible, there´s more abbrasive stuff in your pocket than you might think and tape suffers from this
- if you can squeeze it in, add some safety pins
