I was out doing some target practice this morning and I was using the eyeglass screwdriver on my Leatherman Charge TTI to adjust the rear sight on my revolver. The tiny bit fell out of the driver and I lost it in the grass. I find it disturbing how easily a bit can fall out of a $100 tool and get lost.

I just now ordered some replacement bits from Leatherman.com, but despite only needing to replace the one bit, I found out that I had to buy a whole set of bits. It's really not that big a deal since the set only cost me $5, but still, I was thinking how nice it would be if I could buy only the individual bits that I need.

I know this is SAK fan service but you can buy replacement pieces for Victorinox knives from the bits in my Cybertool to the spring in my scissors to the straight pin under the cork screw.

Never had to replace a bit...they're sorta locked in (without magnets too...great for computer work).

Try the bits that cunstruction workers use for their screw guns and drivers. I beilieve they will fit, but am not 100% sure. If they do, you can get them a any hardware store, homedepot, lowes, or wallyworld. If you want of them cheap harbor frieght, or northern tools.

Nope. Leatherman tools use "flattened" bits. They are rectangular is cross-section, not hexagonal.

If you have access to a grinder, you can turn standard drill driver bits into Leatherman Bits.

It probaby would cost as much for a single bit as the whole set. They would have to charge the same for one as a set because of the need for handling.

You might try calling Leatherman and explain what you need. I bet they have run into this before from other folks.

This sounds like an opportunity to set up a swap thread, perhaps in the Marketplace. Post that you have the kit, minus the pieces you needed to replace, and let everyone know the remaining bits are available.
