been offline for a while, so i've been catching up on previous posts.
Please can someone explain what moleskin/molefoam is? It seems to be quite popular among the forum members.

Moleskin is a thin soft,spongy material with a sticky base. It is used to pad parts of the foot that become tender or blistered while hiking. Molefoam is a thicker version for additional padding. You may have read an earlier thread with an ingenious dressing constructed from both.

Yes i did read that thread - it seems a lot clearer to me now! Is 'Moleskin" a brandname, nickname of generic? i've never heard of it in South Africa.

Moleskin is now made by several companies. It was first introduced by the footcare company Doctor Scholl's. It was named after the cotton weave of the same name.
