Hello all, long time lurker but just recently registered (and this is my first post!)

Anyway, I really want to purchase a Ritter MK1 (have done my research and keep coming back to this knife) and have been trying to find one (new or lightly used) but it seems like nobody is selling. Are any of you aware of anyone/anywhere that is selling this knife (besides aeromedix)? I am somewhat strapped for cash at the moment so the $115 for a new one (even with the nice free shipping incentive they are now offering) is a bit steep, even if it is a pretty good deal for the huge quality of knife you get. I almost snagged one off of ebay but was beaten by a sneaky bidder in the last seconds of the auction... frown

TIA

P.S. Great site with some very smart folks here. I really enjoy the daily dose of knowledge.

I'm envious that you found one on ebay at all...I check now and then, and I've never seen one listed.

Guess that means not many want to part with them wink

Aeromedix is the only place I've found that carries them. Though patience can be difficult with something like this, it will be worth the wait (and money) even if it means putting off the purchase for a while.

Good luck, and welcome out of the shadows smile

Hi newbie. Pull up a plank, make sure it isn't burning. smile

I'm pretty sure it's an Aeromedix or bust deal if you want a new one- it helps keeps the lights on here. eBay... yeah, they aren't my friend any more, so I'll just let that one lie.

I've seen one for sale on bladeforum in the past and it was one of the limited edition M2 steel ones too! :-)

I found the one I was looking for, it was on Ebay, not a forum.

But it ended Nov. 17th. Sorry!

I was watching that knife on ebay too! There have been a few that pop up every now and then. There was even a Doug Ritter fixed blade available on ebay about the same time as the knife you were watching. I have been monitoring ebay for about 4 months and the final bids for the new knives are not that far away from the original sales price (when you include some seller's shipping and handling charges). I concluded that it was better to spend a little extra money and buy through a known seller and help support a great cause. Believe me, that was a big decision for a bargain shopper like myself.

BTW, I ended up buying the RSK Mk4, Gentlemen's Folder, which is never on ebay. I was honest with myself and decided it fit my current lifestyle better. I could not be happier with this knife.

Welcome Alex. Spend the $115 or whatever Aeromedix is selling it for. I've seen one or two on another forum for sale and, like BMO said, you're not getting that much of a break.

Add to that that you have to ask yourself if the small price break you get is worth the risk of getting a knife that has been abused by the previous nitwit owner. You know it happens… this thread proves it. Even if you don’t get the nitwit who thinks he’s MacGyver because he can use his knife to screw in a slotted screw (despite the fact that MacGyver is smart enough to have a Swiss Army Knife that has a screwdriver on it), you never know what kind of garbage, tree sap, pocket lint, etc. that may be stuck in the folding mechanism.

If you plan on giving this knife the role of one you can bet your life on when the time comes, the toughness of the RSK Mk1 is a sure bet, but counting on the knife to not have sustained abuse or neglect is not.

I finally caved and bought one from aeromedix. I am quite excited!

I think you all brought up good points, and I am happy to support ETS.

Nice choice! I can also tell you that you will not be disappointed with Aeromedix customer service, if you have a reason to call upon them in the future.

The M2 RSK knives were limited in number and IIRC the production used up Benchmade's remaining M2 supply. If you can find one, buy it.

Also, don't forget that purchases from Aeromedix.com provide income to equipped.org. A very worthwhile endevor.
