Hey,

I was wondering in regards to water baggies, how are you supposed to use them. I know that you need two of them a day but, are you supposed to just drink one in the morning and one at night? Or are you supposed to just sip from them all day? If so how do you save it? It doesn't have a closure system so I was just wondering.

what do you mean by water baggies? Camelback bladder? The little 4 oz. "survival" water packets? Collapsible water containers like Platypus makes?

FWIW, the recommended allowance of fluids (not just water) is about 2 quarts daily - this can include from food (ie soup). Goes up when you're strenous or in a hot or dry environment.

the water baggies sound like factory sealed emergency drining water packs which are supposed to be good for several years under good storage conditions.

If I were in a situation where I had to use them, I would drink one in the morning and one later in the evening, unless hot weather would force me to get to it sooner. I would say once the water bag is open, drink all of it. The "baggies" I have are really quite small.

Those little pouches usually hold about half a cup. Drink one every hour for 16 hours out of every 24 and you'll be in good shape. (Wt.= a little over 4 lbs.)

There were all kinds of Red Cross kits on clearance for an insane price and I bought about three or four of them for giggles. There were tons of those little water pouches (I ended up with about 20-25), most of which I keep in my BOB as a "last resort" water source, albeit in a puncture-resistant container...

Wow, I drink about two quarts daily when I'm just sitting on my butt and writing code, never mind what is in my food.

Yes, I'm built like an upside down camel.
