I just finished up a new article on Scott Gossman’s PSK knife. I put this small fixed blade with a custom leather neck sheath by Danny Kuehn. This sheath has a neat leather pocket for various small additional kit.

The main article is over at the outdoors-magazine. This is still a bit of a work in progress for the pouch contents, but let me know what you think.

Nice article!

Scott does great work!

But I'm completely unbiased! wink

1. EDC in D2 and Buffalo Horn
2. Nessmuk in O1 and Ironwood
3. Hunter in 5160 and jigged bone

And I have a Kephart in A2 and a Mini-Nessmuk in O1 and Elk Stag due sometime early next year.

I think I'm in love. That seems like a very practical blade.

I like that blade an sheath combo. Though, mine wouldn't have a survival kit in front. It would have a good SAK (like an Alox soldier), a small DMT sharpening stone, and a firesteel/ferro-rod or two.

That way I've got a fixed blade, my multi-use folder, a sharpening stone, and a way to make fire (basically my most important things) all in one package. That way, I could just grab it and go, knowing where everything is.

The only bad thing with that is, if you loose it, you loose everything. So I would probably end up carrying another knife and maybe a Bic or ferro-rod on my person somewhere.

I'm a little concerned about the neck thong. Unless I missed something (not all that uncommon), I see no "breakaway" device on it, so it could be possible to suffer some neck/throat injury, should the thong become hung up on something at the worst possible moment...

nice but it really needs a handle..i've been trying out
different knives on our "dog hikes".not a walk but
a hour and half stomp thru the woods..to test out each one
in some simple ways..shaving a stick for tinder is a good
test..a Mora knife with a good wood handle plowed thru
the stick while a over sized folding pocket knife with
the thinner scales was a hard grip that hurt my hand when
i did the same thing--

Thanks.... grin

The braided neck cord does not have a breakaway device. But if it was braided shorter it could be put together with either a piece of plastic tubing or even a couple of weak stitches if this was desired. I went for the utility of a long cord...both to serve as a quick handle wrap for the knife or as cord for any number of other uses.

Not sure if it porn- I would class what Schwert brings us as art.

Sexy art, but still art.

Art that inspires one to covet thy neighbors gear, liquidate the children's educational funds to acquire bright and shinies, and lust after ever accumulating piles of toy...necessary gear.

However, at least in this one case, I happened to have acquired a Scott Gossman PSK prior to the posting of said pornog...., ahem, art.

Now I just got to get that sheath......

Thanks!

Not sure what's wrong with that one, but if you can't get through with it, here's another one.

Assuming you copied and pasted most of that, the error is due to the email address being misspelled. The ‘R’ in scott@gRossmanknives.com is missing.

Are you sure? The url to his web site is: http://www.gossmanknives.com/ (no 'r'), and there is no valid web site with http://www.grossmanknives.com/.

And if you go to his web site (assuming its his), the contact page has his email address being: scott@gossmanknives.com along with his name and address info.

Yep, that was my mistake. You’re correct. I also have no further ideas as to why you may be getting that error.

No worries... if its working for anyone else, then there's prob an issue with yahoo.

I'll try to use another account and see if thats the issue.

Thanks all,
Kris

Know how to get one of those psk jr's outside of emailing him? Is there a forum that he posts up on?

Hi all
In regards to those of you trying to contact Scott about the PSK knife here is the responce I recived from Him.

"The PSK knife blade only is $50.00 plus shipping. With a kydex sheath is $65.00 and already cord wrapped with a kydex sheath is $75.00. If you get one not cord wrapped with kydex, it will not fit in the kydex once you wrap it yourself. That's why I offer them pre-cord wrapped. I usually have some made every couple of weeks. Thanks
Scott"

Scott contacted me this AM, his home phone line is messed up and he is dealing with Verizon to get it fixed. He is having to go to the Public Library to use the 'net, so he's having delays in getting messages and replying.
