Before I start this I know it has been talked about before but I’m reminding myself as much as everyone else. This forum is called Equipped to Survive and a lot of us have decided that this means “equipment”. I believe it means just what it says equipped to survive this includes having the skills and knowledge to use what equipment we have on hand in an emergency. To do this we need to have an open mind to new ideas, skills, and equipment. I have been reading some of the new posts and rereading some of the old, and I have noticed a trend to dismiss some skills in favor or others (I’m guilty too). As I said I have gone back over the past posts and some of the ideas I had dismissed out of hand seem like good ideas now. I guess what I’m trying to say again is don’t dismiss chance to learn a certain skill because of location, prejudice, pride, or what ever the excuse. Our lives and times change every day, and everything we learn today may come in handy tomorrow if only to win a game of trivial pursuit. Please feel free to remind me of this post if I ever again stray from what I’m preaching.

I love the different view points just not dismissing a persons ideas without as you put it details of the reasoning.
