Does anyone know the maximum legal blade length for everyday carry in the UK?

note also that this is for a folding blade pocket knife, a knife with a lock won't be acceptable. See this thread on rec.knives for a discussion of the case law, ie how judges and magistrates have interpreted the law http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&am...er.ntlworld.com

Having said all of that, if you have a good reason for having a bigger knife then that in itself is a defence, being sensible and avoiding being searched is probably a good start.
