I have a tear in my eye. They told me that only Polaks use solar powered flashlights. Hmmm but seriously it looks interesting. I think I will give it a try.

Yea I might buy one too just to test it. Doug should review this LED along with the rest.

Hi,
Check out Candlepowerforums.com, several months ago, they had a thread or two on this item. My understanding is that there are some of these on Ebay on an intermittant basis as well. Another good source for lighting information is LEDMuseum.com

Enjoy,

ROFLOL - I think now I've got to buy one, if only to tell my friends I have a "solar-powered flashlight"

You definitely deserve a prize for that one.

I have a couple of these, and like them with the following caveats: The unit is useful for short intermittent uses, as you must hold down the button to activate. The beam throw is good for close up work. The solar panel is covered with glass, I dropped one of mine once and it cracked, it still works. However, I doubt it is waterproof any longer. If you go over to the Candlepower’s forum, the light has under gone several reviews. I still prefer my ARC AAA for EDC and PSK use. Pete

The concept seems to be great and cool. But I keep my flashlights in my pockets. So there would be problems with the free recharging. Maybe IŽll try to get one for the toy effect anyway.
