Has anyone used the Smith & Wesson 3 1/2 " Cuttin' Horse ? How is it? At dirt cheap knives it only costs £7.77 (£5) I cant believe the price. Nothing is that cheap in England.

I have two of them, one in my glove box, and one in my tool box. They are decent knives...have a nice grip, sharp blade, one hand opening, and as you noted, very cheap. I got mine from Brigade Quartermasters for $8. I basically use mine for camping trips, food preparation, and so on. Great back-ups to your higher-end knives, take lots of abuse, too.

They've become quite popular in the Cutting Horse Circuit <img src="images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> owning a cutting horse, I have seen several of the knives. They are another twist on SPYDERCOS. They seem well made for the price. I have a SPYDERCO allready, and my horse decided any new metallurgy would go on her hooves this month <img src="images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Are these knives good because i'm looking for a good quality inexpensive folding knife.

I don't know whether you'd end spending a lot more if Customs get a hold of it in the mail!
For a tenner though you can get a good fixed blade knife, the Frost's Clipper from a number of suppliers in the UK. Try http://www.attacc.co.uk and check out the deer stalking page.

Just thought, if you do want a cheap, decent folder then you should look at Opinels. You should be able to see them in outdoor, fishing etc shops. Need a bit of work to get them sharp and they don't look very modern but do the job well.
