I was looking into the benchmites a while back but was a little disappointed to find that they discontinued the 310 with the 154cm blade steel. I'm a big fan of benchmade, but am not too familiar with the AUS8 steel in the Benchmite II. Any thoughts on how the AUS8 compares with 154cm or other blade steels would be great!

Benchmades AUS-8 is about the same as their 440C. Won't hold an edge quite as long as 154cm, but IMO it's noticeably easier to sharpen. It's also a bit tougher than the 440 series steels IMO. It's not S30V or D2, but it works well in this blade. Most people wouldn't notice the difference.
