OK, interesting. I have a Primus striker, and it says something about "good for 1,000's of uses." I was assuming that since there was a limit to the number of uses that there must be a special coating. Otherwise, I would think it would be good for millions of uses: until it's a worn through stub.

About how long is the Hot Spark? About the length of a key? And were there any considerations that caused you to buy the BSA Hot Spark over a Light My Fire, Primus, or other brand? (or was it just because you're affiliated with the BSA?)
