Recently I have been looking for a container to hold a larger survival kit. I then came across the empty case from my 2 AAA maglite. Has anyone used this, do you think its a good idea?

I use one as a pencil case. The lid was unhinged a couple of times when the case impacted on hard floor. But this can be repaired easily. I wouldnīt recommend it for survival equipment as itīs neither very robust nor waterproof.

The AA Mini-Maglites are waterproof to 200 feet...try those.
