i got those transparent container with my lifeboatmatches.
they are not waterproof after opening, well atleast not competly, i found a drop or 2 inside the container after i kept it underwater for a few minutes... but does that really matters ? lifeboat matches are waterproof. if you want to use little round containers to store other thing than lifeboat matches, you could go to a photo shop and ask for some emty film containers... they are free !! ( usually... )

Mine came in a white container but I haven't tested the waterproofness yet. Even if the container isn't waterproof the matches are. A film canister would work just as good. The problem I have with the matches is that I can't strike them on the striker that is on top of the container.

Frank

chris if your talking about the striking trick "Instead of drawing them to you, as you would with a normal match, you should strike them down onto the striker, as if trying to poke it through the top, with just a very little forward motion, not with a pulling motion you would normally use with a match. "

i use a diffrent trick, just hold the match half on the burning and the other half of the wood with 2 fingers and stike, than slide your fingers away...
