I was at WallyWorld last night and found a nice, rather inexpensive little key chain pen made by Zebra, model F-301, it has a loop for a split ring, two to a pack for around $3.98. Its not a Fisher but for the money its not bad. The Fisher is selling for $22.95, I'm curious if maybe the cartridge from the fisher will fit the Zebra, they look similar, I have a couple Fishers so I'll try it.
Well I just tried it and its so close its not funny, the hole in the tip of the Zebra is just a tad smaller so some day when I have time I might try to enlarge it.

I'm going to have to try that out. Another option is Foray brand of ball-point refill at Office Depot. I can't remember the model number, but I saw one Foray refill packet that touted the same qualities of the Fisher pen that fit into a Parker pen (I believe that was the model) & was considerably cheaper than the Fisher pen (the Foray was around $5 + change.) I don't know if it would fit a key chain model of pen, but it wouldn't hurt to experiment. Plus some of us ETS people just put a refill without the pen casing into our emergency kits anyway.

Also forgot to mention that you get two of the pens for the price.

Hi Shadow,
I use Fisher Space pens at work but to have the problem of losing them, which does not make the boss happy.
So I was at a store called "Dollarama" and saw a silver metal pen (made in China) that looked like it would take a Fisher refill, it was only a buck so I bought it. Sure enough the refill worked great, but I lost the pen within a week of buying it. I went back to the store to buy 5 more but there was none left and I have not seen them stocked there since!
Mike
P.S. I found the one I lost in my old raincoat recently but when I went to get it to write this post, it is gone again!

DUDE..........LMAO thats the reason behind the split ring/key chain hole so you don't lose them. All I can say for the ones your losing is " Duct tape and para cord " Sorry I can't stop laughing.

Someone on EDC Forums talked about using the Zebras and drilling them so the Fishers will fit...he seemed to like the results.
