I don't keep alot of stuff on my person, party because it's too combersome.
I have a bob and car kit so I don't feel I need alot for everyday items as I'm usually not more than 200ft from one or other. I keep swapping out items with me depending on my "needs" or area I'm going to. eg. When not at work I swap my swiss lite for full blown swiss army or multitool, extra battery for razr, I may bring a small/basic fsk, extra tinder and wire saw if i have a coat, or swap my flint with the small lighter (pictured).

Typically I keep at least these items on my person:

1x Razr v3c
1x swiss signature lite (pen, flashlight, scissors)
1x 4gb sandisk usb key
1x timex watch (with mini button compass)

1x pill container (tyl 1, alergy, gravol)
1x inova microlight
1x fresnel lens
1x around square foot of tin foil

1x carabiner
1x Whistle
1x flint and saw blade (striker)

1x large space capsule /w:
  3x Spark-Lite tinder
  50-100ft of fish line
  2x hooks
  2x sinkers
  2x small needles
  2x med needles
  2x purification tablets
  2x safety pins
  1x scalpel blade
  2-3ft duct tape

The following is what I carry on my person everyday. It doesn't include the additional gear I carry in my work bag ( See here for a description ).

Pocket Stuff
CRKT pocket folder

Keychain with keys (natch)
Whistle
Skunk Light's solar powered LED
Niteize S-biner

On small carbiner:
Streamlight Keymate
Small SAK (knife, file, scissors, tooth pick tweezers)
Sliver grippers
Pill fob with spare batteries for Streamlight

Survival wallet:
Folding money
4 Quarters
12" Duct tape (pressed flat on adhesive label backing sheet)
12" square heavy duty foil
Sewing kit with 15' dental floss and 2 Exacto blades
Tiny FAK with antiseptic wipes, cream, cotton swabs, toothpicks
Misc. Bandaids
Signal mirror
PicoPad (sticky notes & tiny pen, in the gray pack at center)
Matches, tinder, 2 Aquapur tabs, coffee filter
Credit card sized Fresnel lens (blue case)
BCB credit card tool

This is designed to provide me with the bare essentials, fire, water, and signaling just about any where I travel in my surburban/urban everyday travels. The cars and the house have more stuff for extended get back home or shelter in place or evacuate scenarios.

I buy them from 3Dlens.com. Takes a little while and best to buy a bunch.

Hi Clearwater,

I could not find a source of Fresnel Lens (and some other small survuval tools) in Canada which lead me to purchasing the DR/AMK PSK which has many compact items in it for a reasonable price.

Since then I have found credit card size Fresnel Lens at electronic stores, I think a pack of 2 cost about $5.00.

Last summer I recieved a mass mailout from the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) and in it was a very thin Fresnel Lens, a nice "Thank You" for a donation; I now carry this lens in my wallet.

Old post but my 2 cents have yet to be put in. My EDC is:

I mix and match some of these and don't usually carry every last bit of it...especially to work where knives are a no-no.

  • Kershaw Cyclone knife
  • Gerber EAB pocket knife
  • Gerber Infinity Ultra flashlight
  • Benchmade ERT-1
  • Pocket Kit
    • GSI waterproof case
    • Spare blade for Gerber EAB
    • Duct tape (wrapped around case)
    • Paracord (wrapped around duct tape and tied to case)
    • 2 small and 2 std bandages
    • assorted needles and a bobbin of thread
    • Modified firesteel
    • jig saw blade
    • 4 sparklite tinders
    • 9 feet brass snare wire
    • 2 aspirin
    • 1 ibuprofin
    • 2 imodium
    • 2 Reactine
  • Fox 40 whistle
  • Suunto mini compass/thermometer
  • Ronson jet lighter
  • Motorola L2 phone

And that's just what's in my pockets...the list gets crazy if I've got a backpack with me.

Small PSK,FAK, flashlight, food and water, diabetes testing kit, medication, and Victorinox multitool in an Arc'teryx day pack. Among a rotation of knives, Ken Onion Blackout clipped to my pocket and SAK in my pocket.
