I think its great.I am going to put it on my christmas list.I thought the price was a bit high at first by then I read what all came with it.With it you get a video to show you how to use it.
And you get some more stuff with it to.I think its a great tool.

Did you get? What are your thoughts?

(sorry for bringing up an old thread but my mind suddenly brought the knife to the forefront of my brain..)

Looks extremely useful to me but at that price I don't think I would buy it without an independant review from a trustworthy source like ETS.

Best tools are simple in design and their use "instinctive" and not requiring a video to figure out how to put them to work..

This toy is a good idea and I believe is well built, but I don't see how it can compete against a good knife + a decent multitool in terms of "sitting comfortable" in the hand.

A skilled person with good hands is able to do wonders with a simple quality knife. Someone with a "pair of left hands" might find it useful at first for some tasks but lack of basic skills and imagination will stop him at some point and this nice gadget will be put aside, together with the titanium multitool and the ceramic coated survival knife.

Sorry for my harshnes and scepticism, but believe me that I have been using hand tools, power tools, machine tools etc, for a good while, both in the shop and in the field and never felt the need for anything special beyond TRUE PRO tools.,

Have fun

Those sound like wise words. Very Cody Lundin-esque.

I think that if you do search on this site you will find plethora of reviews on atax. I personally was against that tool from the beginning since I'm not a big fan of one item does it all type of the deal.

That's obvious just by looking at pics of your EDC either here or on the BF forums. Im surprised you dont have to pull a wagon behind you.

Reinhardt, I had one, briefly. It is in the same philosophy as the Tom Brown Tracker, Chris Janowskie's Ranger and the Russian Spetznats survival machet. They are the non folding answer to a Swiss Army Knife addressing multi tasks with varying degrees of success and reflecting oftentimes very specific use scenarios. With one exception, I found the above tools at odds with my real world needs. On a personal level I know you have a decent kit allready. At your age I would invest my money in some adventures. I have few material reminders of my misspent youth, but oh the memories
