Hey all, just wanted to share one of the latest projects in my outdoor advertising class. The project was to create a billboard with the subject matter being more or less up to us. We could choose from, car advertisement, food, clothing, etc., I decided to do a PSA, and being the enthusiastic new member I am, I opted to do a hurricane preparedness billboard promoting equipped.org.
The basic idea was to have some sort of attention grabbing imagery, I chose a wind whipped tree and a hurricane weather symbol. Both of which I thought were easily recognizable, then of course the viewer will (in a perfect world) go home, check out the website, realize how unprepared they are and take the appropriate steps to better prepare themselves and their loved ones.
I actually had a few other ideas other than hurricane preparedness but my instructor thought that idea would be worth exploring because it would most likely attract the most attention. Anyway, they're pretty basic but generally speaking the most effective billboards are just that. Enjoy.
