State Park (or other controlled park), in my opinion, should darn near always allow a campfire. Most have some type of ring (in Michigan they look like freaking blast furnaces and unless you're on top of it, can't see the flames from yer chair!) For goodness sakes, has there ever been a campfire, in a park, so out of control that the nearby forests were in danger? I doubt it very much. Camping equals campfire. Period.
