[color:red]I was thinking of purchasing a pelican mini mitylite, but have found that the bulb only has a 20 hour life. this is very concerning as I doubt very much that i could find any replacement bulbs for it locally. What should I do?

I would suggest a Princeton Tec Blast. They are about 4 times brighter. Uses 2 aaa. I carry a CMG Infinity Ultra, And a Surefire E1E. Soon to be equiped with a led KL1 :o).

Order a spare bulb or two when you order the light. It is always a god idea to pack a spare bulb for whatever light you carry- they are all susceptible to burnout, unless you are carrying a LED type, for which there is no burnout problem.

Actually a twenty hour life time is pretty decent for a non-LED bulb. I have several Pelican lights, I like them a lot, I have found a source for bulbs (REI), and I carry spares religiously when I use them, but I really like LEDs for critical applications because of long battery life and no need for spare bulbs.
