I have heard it is made of somewhat soft steel, allowing it to take mucho punishment w/o breaking. Anyone who owns this knife have any thoughts? At 40- or so with a kydex sheath, you can't beat the price.

I have one in my collection. I would rate it somewhat better than a bayonet but not as good as a SRK or similar knife. It is definiteily a mass produced, military type knife complete with bottle opener on the hilt. The handle is ok but I think it would become slippery when wet. The compartment in the handle is rather shallow and the end cap is secured purely by friction. The sheath being hard plastic will only fit a nylon trouser belt and does not bend at all. Overall, Its a neat piece for a collection because of the Glock name but I think there are better choices for field use.

Chris

For $10 more, the Becker Combat/Utility 7 is a far better knife.

I own one. I don´t recommend it.The blade doesn´t hold an edge for a long time even in normal use. The tang is pretty short so it doesn´t take much punishment before it gets lose. I second the opinion on the sheath.

Yes. I have never owned one but we did sell them a store I worked at. It looked well built and functional. I've never seen the Becker line in person but it sounds like they be more favored here.

Chris

The BK&T CU7 costs about half what the SRK does and has an interesting sheath. They are functionally similar knives. I intend for Santa to bring a couple of the Beckers, so I'll have directly compared them in the woods by mid-January.

Both are good knives, it seems.

Tom
