How does it compare with the FR300? I prefer the Eton Grundig FR300 form factor, but the Freeplay is supposed to be "water resistant". Is it a good feature or just putting the Grunding inside a ziplock will suffice? Can you put AA batteries in the Freeplay? Which one do you prefer?

The built in battery is rechargeable, but it does not run on disposable batteries.

I'm asking because Canadian Tire is currently offering a bundle:

Eton FR300 and Eton M300. I was thinking of getting the FR300 handcrank for shelter-in-place situations and the mini radio M300 for short term bug-out situations and general traveling. The thing I don't like about the M300 is the cumbersome "stub" antenna, but I like the fact that there's an alarm clock.

What do you think of this bundle, is it a good bargain?
