Patients might have a priority, but without staff, they've got nothing. Talk with someone in HR, they'd know the drill.

Now that I am out of LE and in private security I have many desks and many offices to store stuff. The bare minimum I keep at each location is a good flashlight, a bottle of water, some food (power bar, marathon bar, etc.) I keep a keyring with my home and car keys along with a braid of 550 cord, flashlight, mini multi tool, and am considering some sort of small fire starter. This is in addition to a mini bic, flashlight, and knife in the other pocket. If you have a good car kit than you can supplement (most of the time) with the stuff you would have at work. I also carry a modified DR PSP in my briefcase along with a e-ponco and e-blanket.

I would suggest that you keep the following items at the back of your drawer.
a) disposable forks, spoon and chopsticks
b) toiletries
c) a change of clothes
d) a flashlight
e) batteries
f) tissue paper or toilet paper
