Most of my searches were at 9000-11000 ft in anything but flat terrain. Nobody would scout for a place to break a land speed record in this terrain.

What I learned from this effort is that these guys think Fossett went down in the mountains. He was probably just out on a fun sightseeing flight in the mountains. Fairly rugged terrain. Found a couple spots that look interesting for camping and hiking.
