I have a strange question to ask everyone. How the heck do I change the old toilet seat to new one?

I can't find any screw on old toilet seat for me to unscrew it.

look at botum up, they are hidden below. Well on mine they are...

There is probably a little flap on the top, right where the seat is hinged, flip that up and you should see the top of the bolt, it will probably have a slot for a screwdriver (a BIG one). Underneath you will find either a wing nut, or just a nut. The bolt and nut should be brass or a white plastic, depending on how old the seat is, how much it cost, etc. If it is metal it will probably be frozen. In that case you can spray it with WD40, or my wifes secret, hair spray. Have fun. If a lot of guys have been using the toilet be prepared for some cleanup once you get the old seat off...

When you look at the toilet seat hinge there should be two "tabs" attached to the ends of the hinge. Directly below the tabs on the hinge are the nuts that need to be unscrewed. Reach under and you should be able to find them with out looking under. If the seat is not to many years old the nuts will be plastic and should easily unscrew. If the whole bolt is turning and the nut will not come off you will need to pop the covers off of the two tabs at the ends of the hinges. More often than not the covers will need to be flipped open from the front (the seat side) toward the back (the tank side).

Now having said all of that if you have a really old toilet none of the above will apply. My recommendation would be to call Blast and after he is though with the toilet call a contractor and have the remains of that end of the house remodeled. HTH

What OBG said also. I know he has changed more than i have, i just sold seats always tried to avoid the installation part of it.

When in doubt, grab toilet seat and move it rapidly in the clockwiswe direction. Whatever's holding it on will break, then you will have a bowl with two fresh holes in it for the new seat.

Or the bowl will break, and the new one you have to buy and install will come with a brand new seat...

Once you find the bolts and nuts that hold the lid to the bowl, you may find that they’re corroded beyond all get out. If the WD-40 or various other chemicals don’t free it up, break out a Dremel tool and cut the darn thing off.

The Survival Forum has developed into a nice "community" and we added this section specifically so that members of this community, many of whom have become friends via this medium, would have a place to discuss their other interests, affairs, whatever, and get help with whatever they wanted, just as they might in person among friends.

My Bad. I stand corrected.
It just seemed a bit mundane to come to the forum and see these types of subjects on the ETS forum portal page. Can I suggest that the Portal page be used to show only survival threads?
If I were a new visitor and saw this thread about toilet seats I would think I was at the wrong site.
None the less I hear you and will not challenge further non survival related posts "Around the Campfire".
