I also have gotten in the habit of placing an inventory list with most of my kits with a brief description of its contents. I keep these kits for my personal use, but I tend to forget what I put in them after a while. As well I can easily imagine a situation where I'm the one carrying the kit, but am not the one using it. For example maybe I somehow become immobilized: "hey, go grab item X out of my Jeep!" "Where is it?" "In one of my emergency kits, there is an inventory list on the outside..." Yeah, kind of a lame scenario, but I'm sure there are other situations where someone not familiar with my kits will have to use them.
