Can someone tell me if this pack has any way to attach gear (small tent) to the bottom of the pack on the outside?

Yes, there are 4 attachment points on the base of teh pack, a small tent, sleeping bag, ect could easily be attached and carried.

I also have one, I love it, plenty of room and plenty of attachment points. A little heavy though, a friend bought the knock off one from Cheaper Than Dirt for I think it was 49.00 + shipping, its half the weight at least and very well built, not as good as the camelbak but for the money not a bad pack.

my opinion.....try as hard as possible to not attach anything to the outside of your BOB or you daypack or your backpack if at all possilbe....if the backpack in question forces you to hook things on get a bigger backpack.
