Be careful when substituting the beaded wire sold at hardware stores for real dog-tag chain.

The "real" dog-tag chain has been developed to provide the ideal separation tension for holding stuff around your neck. When you buy this stuff at Ace or wherever, it would be easy to get a length of chain that it too robust or too fragile (and "too robust" implies dire consequences if you need it to break!).

As the cost is almost nothing, I'd go to a surplus store (or a catalog) and get the real stuff.

Just my $.02

Gary
